Tonya Harding | 1991 US Figure Skating Champion
Tonya comes from behind to win the free skate and ladies’ title at the 1991 US Figure Skating Championships. During the program, she lands a triple axel jump, the first ever completed by an American woman, on her way to her first US title. She also receives the first 6.0 for technical merit given to a female skater at a US Championship.
